Hi. I’m Licia Ginne, a psychotherapist and candidate at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. I have over 30 years working in the mental health field, received my California License as a Marriage & Family Therapist over 25 years ago and maintain a private psychotherapy and contemporary psychoanalysis practice in Santa Monica, a beach city in Los Angeles, California.
I have blended over 30 years of experience in the addiction field with the mental health field to create a working style of insight-oriented psychotherapy and contemporary psychoanalysis to create a collaborative relationship for exploring meaning, understanding and creating options. My experience includes working in the following types of programs: In-patient & out-patient adult alcohol & drug programs (including one of the few adult programs with pregnant addicts and mothers with their children living on site), in-patient eating disorders, out-patient sexual addiction, out-patient & in-patient psychiatric, community mental health programs and the in-patient & out-patient John Bradshaw Co-dependency program. I’ve helped people address their addiction or abuse of alcohol, drugs and sexual behaviors; those with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship struggles and communication problems; adults with histories of childhood abuse; and people simply wanting to make creative changes to their lives.
My areas of expertise include the treatment of all addictions and eating disorders, drugs, alcohol, sex and compulsive over eating. I work with those who have feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, fear, depression and who are feeling stuck in their lives. I work with those seeking relationships or feelings of loneliness and those in relationship who are unhappy. I work with couples on improving their relationships, help with resolving problems, anger, communicating and building a stronger relationship. Couples who encounter problems with alcohol, drugs, sex addiction, affairs, financial difficulties, communication and anger issues, to name just a few.
